Understanding the Picky Eater Kid
November 29th, 2007Are you faced trying to figure out how to handle a picky eater kid? Don’t worry, you are not alone. This is something that many families deal with and there are ways to make this situation easier to handle. Even though this can be very annoying it is important that you don’t try and force your child to eat. This is not a solution. In fact, it can actually cause more problems for you and your child. You don’t have to worry about your picky eater starving, they will eat before it gets to this point and a child does not need as much to eat as an adult to stay healthy.
A child normally gets enough to eat even if it looks like they are not. If they are the right weight for their age and healthy you have nothing to worry about. Even if your child will only eat certain foods, if they are nutritious foods, then over the course of a week they will have received a well-balanced diet. You really don’t have to obsess too much about how much your child eats, as long as healthy foods are on their list. This is usually easier when you know other families are going through the same thing. You can even get together and share ideas to make things easier for you.
