Like everything else on this planet that lives and breathes, your aquarium fish get sick much like we do. They don’t share the same illnesses that we have, of course but when your fish gets sick he feels just as bad as you do when your sick.
Why Do Tropical Fish Get Sick?
There are many different things that cause tropical fish diseases, but veterinarians attribute most health problems to stress! Stress has a way of making the immune system less effective whether it be in humans or fish. When your fish are stressed, the bacteria in the water that is usually harmless to them can make them sick.
While you might not think of a tropical fish as prone to stress, they are. Introducing them to a new tank, adding more fish or even adding decorative objects can be sources of stress. It’s imperative that you add new tank decor and introduce your fish to a new tank gradually. Another thing that can cause stress is poor water quality, which is why the proper maintenance is key. All those procedures are designed to reduce stress and consequently, illness.

Planting tulip bulbs is rewarding, but it can be monotonous work especially if you have a lot to plant. Taking the time to plant a few tulips now will pay dividends in years to come.
Believe it or not, tulip bulbs have a top and bottom and must be placed in the hole the right way. Be sure to plant all your tulip bulbs at the same depth. The larger end is sat in the hole with the point towards the top. If you plant your tulips to shallow garden animals will dig them up. If you plant tulips too deep they will not grow. Your best bet is to adhere to the depth noted on the bulb package.
The most vibrant gardens will be the ones where the gardener used manure or compost to fill in the holes during planting, rather than just regular fill dirt. Beautiful tulip blooms require nitrogen, one of the best things you can provide the bulbs when you are growing tulips. Be firm with the surface dirt to keep animals from digging up the bulbs, but don’t be too rough or you will disturb the bulb underneath. As a final step, spread mulch over your flowerbed to retain water for your tulips to drink and keep pesky rodents away from the bulbs.

Teaching kids involves a lot of creativity for successful learning. At the grade school level, subjects in the field of science can fail to grab the attention of a youngster, simply due to the poor presentation of the topic. Geography is one subject that is well suited to modeling. Here are a couple of projects that are terrific lessons in geography for kids, inspiring enthusiasm with a hands-on art project. Kids get to team up at a table and create three dimensional maps that show a bird’s eye view of any geographic region you may choose. Once the kids have completed either of these projects, they’ll have a firm grasp of the principles of geography and may likely be wanting to know more.

It amazes me how the toys and cartoons that I played with as a child have come back in popularity. While I once played with Care Bears, Strawberry Shortcake and Transformers, my kids are now playing with them. Perhaps they never truly vanished, I just stopped noticing them. Now that my children are into toys and videos, I’m just shocked at how much and how little has changed from my own childhood. Of course, the dolls and gadgets have been modernized and look much better than how I remember them.

I recently got my kid a little tykes kitchen, and it has completely changed her life. She used to be a pretty hyperactive child. She had a fair number of toys, but she would mostly spend her time throwing them around. This is why I was hesitant to get her a little tykes play kitchen. Throwing teddy bears and small plastic dolls is one thing, but once you have substantial pieces of plastic cookware, you can do some damage.

We are obsessed with films! Just look at us. We thrive off of what we see in cinema. It’s almost like a drug. Now I fully understand that movies offer an often-necessary escapism, but many of us get a bit too wrapped up in the plot and characters. Want to know how I know this? Just look at the Trekis running around with their bizarre collections of Star Trek memorabilia. It’s sort of depressing. On the other end of the spectrum, you have children. This is totally okay. They are just learning and developing. It’s awesome that their imaginations run wild with fantasies and superheroes. Lord of the Rings toys aid in this process. This is all the rage right now. It’s all about Frodo and Harry Potter.
