Skin allergies and reactions
May 9th, 2008Allergic rashes are the common form of skin allergies symptoms that manifest in our skin. Itchiness, swelling, or some forms of dermatitis are typical to skin allergies and rashes.
Most of the skin allergies and rashes are not life threatening, but they do cause certain degree of discomfort to the person who is suffering from allergic reaction. In worst case, they can potentially cause another health complication issues if not treated properly.
Three of the common types of skin allergic reactions are Contact Dermatitis, Urticaria and Eczema.
Urticaria is also known as hives which occur when the skin is exposed to allergens which is then may trigger certain kinds of allergic rashes and reactions. Contact dermatitis is another term for a skin reaction to allergens or irritants that come into contact with allergens. On the other hand, Eczema is the other form of dermatitis or inflammation of the upper layers of the skin when allergens present in the atmosphere.
The skin allergic reactions are commonly caused by infections, latex rubber, foods, insect bites or stings, drugs, medications and even illnesses.
