Buying Brillant Diamonds

When buying round brilliant diamonds, make sure the color isn’t higher than I and not lower than J. Anything higher will be a waste of money, and anything lower than a J will look a little yellowish. I and J colors are the perfect balance of whiteness and value. For princess cuts, it’s best to stick with H or I colors, since princess cut diamonds show diamond color slightly more. With other cuts, you would be best served sticking with an H color to maximize your value. Other cuts, such as radiant cut diamonds, or pear shaped diamonds, show color even more than princess cuts.
