Awesome Songs Are In Top 100 Song Lists

Friday, July 18th, 2008

Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen is another staple of Top 100 Songs lists. It was a longer than usual single and was accompanied by a promotional video, before they had become commonplace. Written by Freddie Mercury, it has an operatic sweep and is one of the most ambitious pop records to be recorded. Originally released in 1975, it is the only record to be a UK number one Christmas hit on two separate occasions.
The surge of guitar bands in the UK in the 1990s was led by Oasis. Their songwriter, Noel Gallagher has produced some memorable records. The track, Don’t Look Back in Anger appears on the What’s the Story, Morning Glory album and is a thoughtful song about life in a rock and roll band.

Female wants to know about Leona Lewis

Tuesday, July 15th, 2008

My next door neighbor, John, is a great fan of Leona Lewis. He keeps talking about his favorite singer all day to his girlfriend. She has never heard about Leona lewis and wanted to know more about her. I kind of figured out that she was a bit jealous about this and told her not to worry about it. I also told her that she was a well known singer from UK and she has a lot of successful albums to her credit. Also, I had information on numerous websites that she could log on to know all about Leona Lewis. So I gave them to my friend and off he was.

Picking Out Music Keyboards

Saturday, July 12th, 2008

Nowadays, no one but the wealthy and serious concert players buy pianos anymore. Music keyboards have simply gotten too good to resist. Keyboard music is more versatile and interesting than ever, and the possibilities will only continue to grow. Buying a music keyboard is not an easy thing, however. With all of the dazzling features, differing technologies, and impressive layouts, it can be difficult to pick out what you need. Without the guidance of an expert, you could end up with something not suitable for your purposes.
When I bought my first musical keyboard, I didn’t really have a clue. I knew that I wanted to be in a rock band, but I didn’t really understand what that entailed.

Live Radio Stations

Wednesday, July 9th, 2008

When I was a teenager, my family didn’t have a lot of money. This meant that I could not go out and buy a new album or cassette when I heard a song that I liked. Instead, I had to record the songs that I liked from the radio.

This did work well, but there were many times when the DJ would talk over the beginning of the song, and that meant I would have to put up with an imperfect copy of a song. Times have changed though, and finding great live radio stations is easier than ever, and some don‘t have a DJ that talks over a song.

You are no longer bound by what is offered in your local area.  Now you have access to  live  radio  stations on the  Internet  usually commercial free.

Please go to Live Radio Stations to read the rest of this article and to access a list of free Internet radio stations.

Playing Movies on your Ipod

Thursday, June 19th, 2008

The main question for anyone contemplating buying a video ipod is, ‘what sort of videos can I watch on it?’ The answer is that just about any video can be transformed into an ipod-compatable format, but there are also a rising quantity of videos being released specifically for the video ipod.

According to the Apple website, the new video iPod can screen video that comes in either H.264 or MPEG-4 formats. To be more accurate, the specifications are as follows:

* H.264 video: up to 768 Kbps, 320 x 240, 30 frames per sec, Baseline Profile up to Level 1.3 with AAC-LC up to 160 Kbps, 48 Khz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats.

* MPEG-4 video: up to 2.5 mbps, 480 x 480, 30 frames per sec, Simple Profile with AAC-LC up to 160 Kbps, 48 Khz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats.

For those unaccustomed to the specifications of digital video, this almost certainly all sounds a bit puzzling, but you need not be too concerned, as you merely need to remember a handful of these numbers and specifications in order to get the most out of your new iPod.

We’ll start with H.264 video.

The highest video bitrate with the H.264 codec is 768 kilobits per second. The biggest picture size for your H.264 movie is 320 pixels wide by 240 pixels high, which is, happily, the same dimension of your iPod’s screen. Your iPod is able to play H.364 video at framerates up to 30 frames per second.

Most iPod programs do their encoding in accordance with this profile. As to the audio, it needs to be encoded as AAC audio up to 160 Kbps, 48 KHz, and can be in either stereo or mono. Note that the audio format is the same for both QuickTime movie and MPEG-4 formats.

The other video possibility you have is the MPEG-4 video, which supports a much higher bitrate than H.264 video 2500 kilobits per second to be precise!

Using higher bitrates as expected also produces much larger files, which means that you end up with a reduced amount space for the storage of extra songs and movies. It comes down to a choice of trading off quality over quantity, though obviously how essential this is depends entirely on the storage volume of your unit.

The bigger picture size for the MPEG-4 video is 480 pixels wide by 480 pixels high screen in capable of displaying. Your iPod will decrease the picture uniformly so that everything fits on the screen. Again, the iPod can play videos up to 30 frames per second and your audio and file format options are the same as H.264 video.

So the significant question that remains is which format is Better H.264 or MPEG-4? In truth, it’s a difficult question, as each format has its positives and negatives.

Many would maintain that the H.264 format is better because it offers a high quality video at a file size that is much smaller compared to MPEG-4, and when it comes to picture quality both formats are indeed similar, especially when encoded at the higher supported video settings. As for the speed of encoding however, most people agree that H.264 video takes longer than standard MPEG-4.

If we take a two-hour movie, for example, when you convert that to iPod using H.264 codec, the activity can take noticeably longer (especially with QuickTime haphazard Export function: ‘Movie to iPod video’).

To be brief, which ever format you settle on, you’ll need to take into consideration a number of contributing factors, including the number of movies and songs you are likely to want to store on your video ipod, the projected size of the individual files, the actual storage capacity of your video ipod, and your patience when it comes to the encoding process.

In truth though, deciding on an appropriate video format for your ipod is one of the more agreeable choices that needs to be made in life, and shouldn’t prove too much of a worry.

Want the scoop on Amy Winehouse?

Tuesday, June 17th, 2008

My next door neighbor, Jack, is a great fan of Amy Winehouse. Surprisingly, he told me that he doesn’t know much about her, except for her music. I told him that I had information on numerous websites that he could log on to know all about Amy Winehouse. She’s so big these days that there are entire sites dedicated to her. Unfortunately not all those sites are accurate. One site called Chickipedia has proven to be quite reliable. They actually have details about Ms. Winehouse that I didn’t know. It’s a pretty good site.

Explore the Summer Festivals

Thursday, June 12th, 2008

There is more to the UK music festivals this summer that Live at Leeds. From rock by the seaside at Newcastle to folk and acoustic sounds at Cambridge, United Kingdom’s festivals scene is in superb health. Tickets for old favourites like Love Music Hate Racism and Maps Festival still seem to be snapped up like hot cakes, but with Madonna on the Isle of Wight, Pink Floyd at V Festival & Jay-Z at Glastonbury the UK’s festivals are appealing to a broader demographic range than ever before. Buy Music Festivals tickets and see your favourite bands!

To ask, what do festival lovers wish from a music festival? Is it fabulous dance music so festival hunters can have a laugh all evening, ear popping heavy metal music for serious head banging or some fine soft folk music while festival goers bask in the lovely sun? What is further fundamental really is the kind of atmosphere that folk are seeking for, the artists and the facilities, all of which at different festivals vary a lot. The vital music festivals goes into swing gradually at the tail end of April beginning of July the festival happen up & down the Great Britain country side so there is always going to be an incredible festival that is nearby to festival lovers. There are hardly ever any complaints as you of course are going to choose a sensational festival that suits festival goers & what one is seeking for.

The 1 st time festival lovers attend a fantastic festival from the very minute folk walk in the grounds to erect your tent accommodation you might feel this good buzz. Music Festivals regularly seem to get better year after year. The only down fall that appears to get brought up year after year is the expense of kebabs and cola yet this cant be helped. You yourself are no allowed to take any of your own kebabs or drink onto the festival site but festival lovers are allowed to bring it into your camping ground so it makes sense to eat & drink all festival goers can before stepping into the festival grounds this way you should be able to refrain from spending a fortune What makes a fine festival great is for obvious reasons the the warm weather, the terrific atmosphere the bands and the awesome memories that festival lovers are obviously going to make along the way.

Music Downloads - Apple iTunes Proposes Unlimited iTunes Access

Sunday, June 8th, 2008

Apple is in the process of setting up unlimited music downloads from its iTunes library. They’re currently in negotiation with the major recording labels to determine a fair premium price . Currently their proposal is a monthly fee of $7 to $8.

As technology improves and illegal music downloads increase, this would allow Apple, in my opinion, to increase it’s market share of online music sales. Because, even at the $0.99 cent per music download cost, a number of iPod users still prefer to acquire memberships with P2P file sharing sites. And with this option, they are less inclined to be prosecuted for copywrite infringement.

MP3 Music Downloads - Napster Opens New MP3 Store

Friday, June 6th, 2008

The major recording labels it seems, are finally accepting the simple fact that they’re absolutely NOT going to recoup their market share in music sales they lost in the past decade. Technology will not allow it.

Napster claims to have over 6 million tracks and 760,000 subscribers. So they’ll compete with iTunes at 99 cents per MP3 download and $9.95 for the full album. But they’re really hoping a lot of folks will sign up for their unlimited MP3 downloads subscription, their real money maker.
