Goldman Sachs: The Next American Revolution

Wednesday, April 28th, 2010

Allegations of fraud brought last week by the Securities and Exchange Commission is a shocking departure from the culture of collusion among the U.S. government and the nation’s top banks. That despite the position of this publication and myriad others broadly categorized as “fringe” who have consistently and vociferously objected to the two or more standards applied to organizations and individuals by a corrupt legal system.

Throughout the 200 year-or-so history of linked financial markets, the name of J.P. Morgan has almost always been dominant. Goldman Sachs, though newer in terms of participatory history, has quickly risen to join J.P. Morgan at the forefront of the only industry that credibly dictates to government.

To many, the scandal surrounding Goldman Sachs apparent rigging of the craps tables in the house’s favour comes as no surprise.

Did The Bank Bailout Work?

Tuesday, March 30th, 2010

A few months ago, the crumbling global economy was atop the
agenda of many G20 leaders. Social unrest, banking sector
meltdown, global growth conundrum, and stock market yo-yos were
the main discussion topics among the planetary leadership.

Governments the world over addressed the most imperative issue,
the banking pandemonium, with massive cash inflows into a sector
that hitherto epitomized capitalism at its best (and worst),
with a modus operandi more akin to central intervention in
communist economies.

The global tab ranges from 4 to 5 trillion US dollars according
to the most optimistic estimates, but the overall costs may run
higher in the future.

African Diaspora in Europe

Wednesday, March 17th, 2010

The African Diaspora began its existence following the events that led to forced dispersing of many native Africans all round the world. The majority of the African Diaspora was dispersed throughout Europe, the Americas and Asia during the so-called “Arab and Atlantic Slave Trades.” These processes started at about 9th century and ended in the 19th century. Not so many Africans were brought to Europe throughout this historical period, and those who were formed communities that survived to the modern days, but in many other cases, blacks intermarried with non-blacks and their descendants blended into the local population. The real formation of today’s African Diaspora in Europe started in the 1960’s when most of the African countries where liberated from their European rulers. Does Your Bald Head Bother You?

Sunday, January 17th, 2010

Over the ages, baldness has been considered a disease. Lately, it has also been followed as a fashion.

However, greater numbers of people still feel that a head covered by hair is always more attractive than a bald one.

Every month, hair grows by about 1 inch. Normally, around 85% of the hair on your head is always in the growing phase at any time, and 15% is not. Read more, check out >> Hair Loss Treatments

2012 predictions and fear of failure

Wednesday, January 13th, 2010

Has it ever occurred to anyone that maybe, just maybe, the Mayans got tired of chiseling messages into rocks. It does take a long time and would be very hard work. Maybe like our yearly calendars ending on December 31 they just had to pick a time to stop. Now my guess is as good as anyone elses because no one was there in the meeting where the Mayan people decided to stop with their future calendar efforts.

Maybe they got so busy fighting they didn’t have time to carve rocks. Maybe they knew their civilization was doomed and stopped wasting time on the future and started paying more attention to the present. Maybe they abandoned their cities for reasons according to their own prophesies. When the cities were abandoned almost all carving stopped. It’s logical to expect the carving of calendars stopped at the same time.

Perhaps with the way things were going for the Maya they simply didn’t have the time nor inclination to continue carving calendars of the future. Having the time to carve rocks was a luxury way back then.

Anyway, Dec 21, 2012, the end of the Mayan calendar and the end of the 2012 prophecy and predictions is when the dark rift in the Milky Way, Earth and the sun are all aligned. This ushers in a new age on the Mayan calendar.

For myself, I have a huge fear of failure but I am good at facing that fear and overcoming it. I don’t let my fear of failure cause me to procrastinate or get me off track. I use the fear to make sure I’m doing my absolute best at all times because I know if I don’t do my best I will fail. That scares me. I’m not afraid of trying at all, just failing.

I started a business when I was married to my first wife. The business became successful and we were getting ready to make some huge money when my wife started acting weird. She wanted us to stay small because she was comfortable there. She feared what success might bring and did every little thing she could to make sure we didn’t grow any bigger.

I’m sure you can see the problem. I have a fear of failure and she had an even bigger fear of success. Finally I couldn’t stand anymore of her irrational fear and we got a divorce. She’d rather be divorced and alone rather than successful and well off.

Too Good To Be true

Monday, December 28th, 2009

These days there are all kinds of phony marketing schemes out there, increasing the need for consumers to shop with that familiar old saying in mind – “if it’s too good to be true, than it probably is”. Here are just a couple examples that have popped up in my industry of pave stones. These exact examples are seen everywhere though, even from large companies.

One add that i recently saw advertised free demolition (removal of the old concrete, dirt or asphalt), plus 35% off the entire pavestone contract price, plus a $500 gas card. I was baffled when i saw this.

Since I am in the pave stone business, I know that the market average square foot price for a proper pave stone installation is around $9.00 a foot. That’s assuming a basic pave stone such as an Antique Cobble, Holland Stone, Bishop’s Hat, etc. is used. for example, a driveway, patio, walkway or pool deck paving stone installation of 1,000 square feet should have a final price tag of around $9,000. Depending on how lean the installation company operates, a 5 – 10% discount may be achievable.

Without going into a math lesson, let’s put the direct job cost for a proper 1,000 square foot paving stone installation at $6,200. This is only the direct costs associated with the pave stone installation itself, and does not include overhead costs such as vehicle payments, gas, advertising, office lease, phones, etc. In keeping with the $9,000 contract value, we’ll say the overhead and profit tacks on an additional $2,800.
So, starting with our $9,000 estimate ($6,200 direct project costs + $2,800 overhead), let’s begin the discounting process.
$9,000 – 35% ($3,150) = $5,850 (new contract price, after discount)

Joe Contractor would be paying $350 out of pocket to install this pavestone project, and remember, that’s before paying for his truck, gas, office and cell phone, among other things.

The obvious ploy here is that their prices are inflated from the beginning and they are eventually “discounting them down to the market average price. While value engineering is needed in order to attract potential customers, these price drops in excess of 20%, free demolition and other perks like gas cards are simply too good to be true and are false discounts.

We often see “no interest and no payments for 12 months. The last time I looked, banks and credit card companies were raising their interest rates not offering free financing. So for all those scoping out interest free financing deals, I would recommend comparing that price with a non-financing option. Most major financing companies charge an average of 7% of the contract price to the contractor for financing their contracts. We can see from the example above, the contractor can’t afford to absorb another $630 on his paving stone project.

Ultimate mind power

Sunday, December 27th, 2009

IF you could raise the amount of your brain by just a measly five percent you would be right up there with the great minds of all time. Einstein, Hawking, Newton, Michelangelo and the other great thinkers and doers. Meditate on that for a few seconds. Ultimate mind power could be yours.

That would be awesome wouldn’t it? You as one of the most intellectually gifted people on the face of the earth. What would you do with all of that brain and mind power and do it fast?

Could you have more money?
Could you provide better for your family?
Would you have a better personal life?
Could you have more friends?
Could you have everything you ever wanted?
Could you have everything you ever wished for?

The answer to all of the above is YES. Just learning how to use your mind can give you a big boost over those who don’t know how.

Can an electronic cigarette help you with quitting smoking cigarettes? Did you even know there was an electric cigarette? Me either but they now make an electric cigarette that is very close to smoking the real thing. Even with simulated smoke.

The simulated smoke isn’t real smoke, it’s a water vapor but it looks like smoke when you exhale. I’ve tried quitting smoking a ton of times and it’s something I’ve never been able to do. Not even using the power of my mind.

Maybe the electronic cigarette can help me quit. I don’t know but I do know I’m going to try it. The electric cigarette does give you the nicotine your body craves and that’s for sure what I need to quit smoking.

Like most people I’ve tried the nicotine patch, nicotine inhalers, nicotine gum and the stop smoking pill, Zyban. I came the closest to quitting smoking when I was using the nicotine patch, the nicotine inhaler and Zyban all at the same time.

Mortgage Brokers Provide Real Value | Residential, Commerical, and Construction Mortgages

Thursday, December 17th, 2009

Selecting a Good Mortgage Broker can not only save you time and money, but it can also make or break the deal that your trying to close.

Unfortunately, there are a lot of brokers out there that, while, qualified, lack the experience necessary to deal with more complex transactions. If you have a pretty simple deal where there’s good credit and lots of income then, potentially any broker will do. But when you get into mortgage related applications that involve things like construction financing, debt consolidation, commercial and industrial property loans, then you need to locate more of what I would call a mortgage specialist, someone who has successfully completed a number of similar transactions to the one you are considering in the past few years.

The ability to work with someone with experience that knows the ins and outs of the market and has direct relationships with different lenders can prove to be invaluable.

The best way to find the right mortgage broker is to call one up that appears to be qualified and interview them yourself regarding their related experience to situations similar to your own. If you don’t get a warm fuzzy feeling right away, then give someone else a call.

Home Security Systems

Wednesday, December 2nd, 2009

Home security systems play an important part in helping to protect our homes & family’s against unlawful intrusion. Not only does it play an important role, it is also designed to play a specific security function in the overall safety & security of our homes & family’s. The electronic security coverage provided by security systems are intended to provide our homes with a second line of defense.

Unfortunately many people do not realize what the true function is for home alarm systems & they rely way too heavily & solely upon them. The first & most important line of defense for any home is the physical security of the homes perimeter. It is unbelievable the vast number of people that have invested a large sum of money in a home security system & have totally ignored the most basic physical security measures.

Having a home alarm system is an important element in the overall security protection for your home & family. Providing electronic security coverage without the implementation of physical security measures will provide the homes occupants with a false sense of security. As important as it is to look after physical security measures first, a good secure home is best protected by using a combination of physical & electronic security measures working together.

Please visit my website for additional information on home security systems as well as detailed content on essential & effective home security measures that is required for your first & most important line of defense.

What agriculture can do to help in the fight against climate change

Wednesday, December 2nd, 2009

Agriculture is a major source of global greenhouse gas emissions accounting for over 10% of global anthropogenic emissions, in particular in the areas of methane and nitrous oxide. Without abatement measures, emissions are likely to climb, among others due to population growth and changing food consumption patterns. In order not to compromise other key challenges, such as global food security, it is essential to look for “win-win policies. Efficiency and cost-effectiveness of measures should be key considerations for policy makers. Significant emissions reductions and priority focus should also be sought in sectors, e.g. coal-fired electricity generation, where abatement is more cost-effective than compared to other sectors.

Possible mitigation measures include a wide range of issues, such as improved farming techniques, using “cleaner energy, carbon sinks, etc. However, many mitigation options entail additional costs to farmers, calling for cost-effectiveness to be given the highest attention. In the ABC’s view, innovation will need to play a key role for mitigating emissions from agriculture. Innovation should be defined broadly, i.e. not only related to technology, but also services, farming practices and behaviour along the supply chain. In this context, the spread and adoption of technology and innovative approaches needs to be given the highest attention.
This is an excerpt from the Agricultural Business Chamber presentation to the portfolio committee in Parliament on the agribusinesses’ position on climate change. The presentation is available for download on the ABC website

All Trainers shoud know dog training biting.

Monday, November 23rd, 2009

A dog trainers’ skills are complete only when he knows all about ‘dog training biting’.

Dog training biting is that all important chapter in dog training, where a puppy is taught the ‘concept of bite inhibition’ before it closes four months old.

The mouth is to a dog what hands are to human beings. It is the teeth in that mouth and the power of the jaws in that mouth that can be very dangerous if the dog is not taught the limitations of their use when it is in contact with humans and their property.

Read this article ‘dog training biting’ on this website http://secretstodogtraining.org/ to learn about the ‘concept of bite inhibition’.

The Military as a Career

Friday, November 20th, 2009

With the collapse of the economy and one in seven unemployed, I expect enlistment in the army, navy, air force and marines to skyrocket. It has been long known that close to 30% of the military enter the military because they have no better option coming out of high school. Some heartless parents kick thier kids out when they turn 18. Where can they go? The easiest option is the Army. Unfortunately, these soldiers are not inclined to actually fight. Often they refuse to and go awol. The only advantage we still have over the huge Chinese army is they have millions of this type of soldier that doesn’t believe in fighting for socialism and certainly does not want to die for it. The military is a good way to enter government jobs. Since most jobs in a socialist economy are government jobs, the military is going to become a better way to get a job. In the army for instance, once your time is up, you can use their services such as the army resume builder program which helps solders find government jobs. While you are in military service they also educate you and give you skills. Not so bad really.

Serious Search For Alternative Treatments for Cancer

Tuesday, November 17th, 2009

I don’t know about you, but I do not know of anyone who has had any success beating cancer with chemotherapy. I thought that Farrah Faucet had beaten cancer, but then you hear she died. My grandfather had to go on chemo in the 1970′s and it was very painful. Of course it didn’t work. Doctors just don’t have many options. The government will not let them use natural alternative treatments for cancer or they can lose their license. I know a preacher in Colorado that has prayed with many a charismatic Christian and had cancer disappear. Unfortunately, very few Christians have enough faith to believe in healing since most denominations will teach that healing passed away 1900 years ago. So it doesn’t work for most. One secret may be eating the seed of an apricot. Sounds strange but it also shows promise.

The University of Michigan Law School Filled

Monday, October 26th, 2009

When talking about prestigious law schools, one must consider the University of Michigan law school on the short list. Getting into a prestigious law firm is all about who you know, and where you have your law degree from. Certainly, a high profile lawyer that came out of an unknown law school can climb up the ladder of success and become a partner based on merit. But this rare. The contacts you make in a bag law school combined with having the degree can propel you way ahead of the myriad of general law school graduates entering the job market every semester.

California Governor Candidates and Their Celebrity Status

Thursday, October 8th, 2009

Technology has completely changed what we have called political campaigning. In the past years, California governor candidates would go extra mile in terms of their political ambitions. The kind of campaigning they had back then requires months of strategizing and planning not to mention ample amount of money so they could produce and mail their campaign materials to newspapers and scheduled speeches to get more publicity.

The governor candidates in California have reached celebrity status on social networking sites, but is it enough to fix California’s problems? Read more in this great article, by David Chan, at http://adpublishing.org.

Well in this age of terrorism, secular philosophy and general its all about me humanism, it is hard to trust anyone. It used to be that background checks were something only required for government security jobs. But today, no matter what you apply for, it will involve having you checked out.
