What Animal Do You Want To Buy?

Sunday, November 1st, 2009

It’s no big secret that so many individuals far and wide adore animals of all sorts. This is pretty much in our nature as human beings. Why else would so many individuals and families alike always be on the lookout for animals for sale?

You probably won’t have a great deal of difficulty selecting from the vast array of animals for sale. I say this simply because you probably already have a particular species of mammal, bird or reptile in mind. It certainly seems that most people go for domestic dogs or cats. These are the two most popular pets in the USA.

Finding Clothes and Accessories for Dogs

Wednesday, October 28th, 2009

The other day, I was out at the dog park, watching my pooch play with the other puppies out there. I found myself thinking about buying accessories for dogs. I have a medium sized mutt who is a bit temperamental, so play time at the park is always a little bit dicey. On most days, I have to watch my pup constantly, less he gets into a fight with one of the bigger dogs. On this particular day, however, I was running into another problem. Basically, my puppy just did not seem to want to play. He sort of skulked around and sulked while the other doggies frolicked around him. I took a closer look, and that is when I saw it: he was shaking.

Animal Behaviors

Saturday, October 10th, 2009

Dog animal behavior is also quite fascinating and unusual. Everyone knows that dogs get into fights from time to time, but people don’t realize the dogs also make up after those fights. Animal behaviors can be so much like humans that it is sometimes hard to believe. For example a dog who has just won a fight with another dog will occasionally make amends by rolling over on its back in order to demonstrate that it doesn’t want to totally dominate the other creature.

Wolf and Dog

Friday, October 2nd, 2009

Nor are their habits different. The wolf’s natural voice is a loud howl, but when confined with dogs he will learn to bark. Although he is carnivorous, he will also eat vegetables, and when sickly he will nibble grass (not at all like the care from soladi care home for pets). In the chase, a pack of wolves will divide into parties, one following the trail of the quarry, the other endeavoring to intercept its retreat, exercising a considerable amount of strategy, a trait which is exhibited by many of our sporting dogs and terriers when hunting in teams.

Caring for Dogs History

Friday, October 2nd, 2009

The dog was not greatly appreciated in Palestine, and in both the Old and New Testaments it is commonly spoken of with scorn and contempt as an “unclean beast.” Even the familiar reference to the Sheepdog in the Book of Job “But now they that are younger than I have me in derision, whose fathers I would have disdained to set with the dogs of my flock” is not without a suggestion of contempt, and it is significant that the only biblical allusion to the dog as a recognised companion of man occurs in the apocryphal Book of Tobit (v. 16), “So they went forth both, and the young man’s dog with them.”

The great multitude of different breeds of the dog and the vast differences in their size, points, and general appearance are facts which make it difficult to believe that they could have had a common ancestry and that caring for dogs was a trusted pastime.

One thinks of the difference between the Mastiff and the Japanese Spaniel, the Deerhound and the fashionable Pomeranian, the St. Bernard and the Miniature Black and Tan Terrier, and is perplexed in contemplating the possibility of their having descended from a common progenitor. Yet the disparity is no greater than that between the Shire horse and the Shetland pony, the Shorthorn and the Kerry cattle, or the Patagonian and the Pygmy; and all dog breeders know how easy it is to produce a variety in type and size by studied selection.

Dog Training Biting – Inhibit them from biting.

Sunday, September 27th, 2009

Puppies, don’t we all love them! You know what? they love biting!

Biting to a small puppy is a natural instinct and an automatic reflex. Human babies hold on to things with their little hands, puppies hold on to things with their mouth. Mouthing is a reflex by which they try and grab and hold onto something.

While they are puppies this mouthing and biting can be harmless, but as they grow if they do not learn how to control this natural reflex of ‘biting’ then they would b be very dangerous and destructive as adult dogs.

Every dog training manual or program has a section ‘dog training biting‘ because ‘biting’ is something we have to teach our pet dogs to control.

Puppies as long as they are with their mother, along with their litter mates and as they socialize with their own dog social packs, learn how to control this biting instinct and keep it at a level, which under normal circumstances, would be of no concern to anyone. But, we have a pet dog that was taken away from his mother when he was a few weeks old, and did not have the chance to learn anything.

This dog will retain and use all its natural instincts until he or she is taught otherwise. Biting is one of those instincts, which a dog has to be taught how to control.

With proper dog training biting skills it is very easy to teach a puppy how to control the use of its mouth and teeth when dealing with humans in all situations. This aspect of dog training biting is called ‘biting inhibition’ and should be on the priority list of every pet owner when he brings a new puppy home to be added to his family.

Cat Grooming

Monday, September 21st, 2009

There are many basics that most people know come along with owning a cat. There is the litter box to attend to, and a steady supply of fresh water and food that all pets need. However, depending on the type of cat you have, you may also have to think about cat grooming. Most think of cats as pretty clean animals that take care of their own bathing needs, but there are some breeds that might need a little help in that area. Those breeds that have longer hair will have to have grooming services for cats once in while.

Interesting Little Known Tidbits Regarding Pets.

Wednesday, September 9th, 2009

Throughout history, animals have been an integral part in lives of people all over the world. Whether used for hunting, esthetic purposes or company, pets have been a considerable source of joy for their owners. For instance, dogs and various types of birds often were domesticated in ancient Rome. They were used to bring comfort to their owners and to relax them, and there are a lot of sculptures and mosaics that are dedicated to these animals. Certain kinds of dogs from that era, like the Greyhound (AKA Italians Greyhounds) are still around today, but were once used as “hot pillows” when the ancient people were suffering from illnesses. Unlike cats, dogs in the ancient Rome always had names. Popular names for dogs in that era are Sila, Titus, Juba and Sasca.

Four thousand years ago, the Egyptians were the earliest people to make cats their pets. Used initially as rodent chasers, cats then became a source of admiration and veneration in the ancient Egypt. Particular scenes on the tombs of ancient Egyptians show how important cats were to their lives. They would also place statues of the cats at the front of their homes, too keep spirits that were evil and bad luck away. The feline goddess that protected all cats and children was named Bastet. The Egyptian people were sure to guard their treasured and cherished cats, but cats also had the backing of the Egyptian legal system since if a cat was injured, the perpetrator could be killed. Armies were instructed to go on reconnaissance missions to retrieve smuggled cats from nearby countries; exporting cats out of Egypt was illegal.

It has been a long time since people started keeping fish and reptiles as pets as well. There is evidence that suggests that during the years 220 to 390, people in the Chun dynasty had goldfish as pets. Goldfish were usually bred and raised within the Buddhist monasteries or houses of royalty and other people of higher social rankings. Later, though, the Ming Dynasty indicates fish were more common and were retained by all social ranks in clear, breakable containers. Growing in popularity , these “ Golden carps” started to be widely bred and exported to Japan and Europe during the 15th century. Their presence in a household was told be bring luck and prosperity. Their gracious movements were also said to aid in relaxation and help with stress relief.

People from different locations and eras have appreciated animals as dedicated friends and companions. Many people can’t imagine life without a pet today. But we must never forget that we are responsible for those we decide to shelter. You should never purchase a pet on a whim, you should always have a plan. We have to make sure our pets are healthy and have safe living arrangements as responsible owners. They too require attention and affection, having a pet is not a hobby, but rather a commitment. We can acquire knowledge about how much love and attention we should give our pet from our ancestors. It is wonderful that we are now able to provide our pets with treats, toys, and accessories that were not available before. Beyond being possible, it’s also pretty cheap and very easy to accomplish, consider a product such as Frontline plus for cats for example. In addition to buying all these things for them, make sure we also show them love and appreciation in return for all they do for us.

Doggie Training School

Monday, August 31st, 2009

I have a very well behaved dog. Why? Well, I read the article “Have a Well-Behaved Dog with Dog Training Classes” and learned how important dog training can be. Soon thereafter, my dog was enrolled in a doggie training school. Of course, that doesn’t always happen. I’ve spoken to several lawyers I know, from a California lemon law lawyer to a personal injury attorney out of Orange County, and they all say that dog bite cases never work out well for the dog. The dog is almost always put down, whether it is a good dog or not. So protect your pooch. Train your dog before it’s too late.

Friday, July 17th, 2009

Cleaning Cat Urine. Carpet Stinks Removed in a Jiff! Yeah right! Say those who have been unable to rid the home of the awful pungent stink of feline pee!  If you have a Tiddle’s who like to piddle indoors and you still don’t know how to get rid of the stink, then you really haven’t done your homework prior to becoming a cat owner. Only a pet novice would still be scrubbing away the pee with warm soapy water, which by the way, makes the problem worse never better. You see, there are certain chemicals in cat urine which activate when in contact with moisture, and so you really are flogging a dead horse if you try to clean it in the same way you would mop up a spilt drink. There is only one way to clean your pet’s piddle in the pile and that is with a purpose cleaning agent and nothing, repeat nothing else will do. Don’t worry, you can shop for these products almost anywhere.
