Promoting your band to the top

Sunday, January 3rd, 2010

Learning to play an instrument is one thing. Practicing with your band to the point where you groove is another. But none of this is useful is you want to get to the top if you don’t know how to promote your band.

If you look at the successful band out there, today and historically, you will see that they were either very lucky in meeting the right person in the industry and literally winning the lotto, or they were very good and creative at band promotion.

Being lucky is coincidentally one of the main factors of promoting your band. You want to buy as many lottery tickets as possible, hoping to score on one of them. Translated this means pursuing all the avenues of promotion possible, like creating a band web site, Myspace site, meeting people in the industry on special events, etc. The list goes on, but the important thing is to get out there and push your groove!

So I found this cat Zack Stenger’s band.  He knows how to rail that guitar. I don’t think he”s on iTunes yet but get ready.

Live Radio Stations

Wednesday, July 9th, 2008

When I was a teenager, my family didn’t have a lot of money. This meant that I could not go out and buy a new album or cassette when I heard a song that I liked. Instead, I had to record the songs that I liked from the radio.

This did work well, but there were many times when the DJ would talk over the beginning of the song, and that meant I would have to put up with an imperfect copy of a song. Times have changed though, and finding great live radio stations is easier than ever, and some don‘t have a DJ that talks over a song.

You are no longer bound by what is offered in your local area.  Now you have access to  live  radio  stations on the  Internet  usually commercial free.

Please go to Live Radio Stations to read the rest of this article and to access a list of free Internet radio stations.

Doing The Tennessee Waltz About Patti Page

Friday, February 23rd, 2007

Even more success followed when All My Love came out. It was adapted from the orchestral piece Bolero, composed by Maurice Ravel and was the first number one hit for Patti Page in 1950. Later in the same year, she had the biggest hit of her career when she recorded The Tennessee Waltz.

The face of pop music changed of course as the 1960s revolution of groups took hold. Patti Page had a loyal fan base however and remained a much sought after live performer. The last pop hit occurred in 1965 with the theme song from the movie starring Bette Davis, Hush, Hush, Sweet Charlotte. Her last ever chart position was in the country charts in 1982, with the song My Man Friday, which reached number 80.

Ambassador Service – Radio Show Audio

Monday, February 5th, 2007

Looking for a great radio show audio? – Here we go, this was too funny!

Novice diplomat William Montgomery is selected to serve as the U.S. Ambassador to a south Pacific island nation. With eccentric and unusual characters, Ambassador Service will leave you guessing whilst it amuses you.

Robert Parson has written an second part Ambassador Service 2, also very worthwhile!

Here’s what he says about his books: “The plan was to distribute the series on the internet. The average websurfer, though, has a notoriously short attention span. I wrote “Ambassador Serviceâ€? and “Invasive Speciesâ€? to take advantage of that. Instead of using the old 30 minute radiotheatre paradigm, I wrote them as serials with episodes of five minutes or less. Long enough to move the plot along, but not so long someone is going to lose interest. This also gives me a chance to create appointment listening, by making the episodes available on the same day every week. “

Comedian Dennis Leary Is a Stand-Up Guy

Tuesday, January 2nd, 2007

Denis Leary, born 1957 in Worcester, MA, is a multi-talented writer, director, comedian, and actor. Well known for his angsty, off-color humor, his career started on MTV during a comedy sketch where he ripped on REM. Best known as a stand-up comedian, he has released two full-length comedy albums, No Cure for Cancer and Lock’n’Load. Though admittedly not much of a musician, Leary’s off-color song “Assholeâ€? became extremely popular in 1994, reciving a great deal of notoriety both inside and outside the United States. However, the song’s language kept it off of most major U.S. radio playlists, though it was huge on Australian radio stations.

An Angry Roger? Waters Still Run Deep

Sunday, December 31st, 2006

Roger Waters lets out the pain, joy, and anger in his soul. The Wall tells the tale of a man’s alienation from the world. He feels an outsider and cries “Is there anybody out there? Roger’s father died during World War II, and the loss has been a recurring theme throughout his work. His lyrics reflect the direct and brutal impact of war, as he was a victim himself.

While there have been some very large cash jackpots won over the years, never in the history of the Z95.3 radio station has the cash jackpot reached the current level of over $56,000. The whole Province is buzzing with activity all surrounding possible guesses of what exactly the z-effect is. Is A Baby Alarm System Necessary

Tuesday, August 29th, 2006

It’s a simple one way speaker that allows you to hear what’s going on in the baby’s room from anywhere in the house. Next up in complexity for monitoring devices are the baby cams, which allow you to see as well as hear what’s going on in your baby’s room. Last is the baby alarm which actually monitors the baby for sound and then sets off an audible alert for parents when the baby makes a noise.
