Cheap Family Vacation together with the Family

Thursday, August 26th, 2010

Trying to organize a cheap family vacation with all the family may sound improbable. But in reality you can organize it starting as low as possible because there could well be travel agents out there that can give you some discount. When the plan is finally thought of, it might seem appropriate to refer to numerous travel agents. You’ll want to pay attention on this step. Numerous travel agents can do anything so the costs in the brochure changes with the cost that they charged you. If you would like to get cheap family vacation packages, choose one reliable travel agent. Tell him about your budget, how many people are included, how many kids and how many adults are going. Then you need to tell him about how long you wish to spend your travel and the destination that you intend to visit.

Fleet Tracking Devices

Tuesday, August 24th, 2010

GPS technology has been a huge part of many companies since it came out. Businesses rely on it to keep track of their trucks and drivers. It helps your business reduce the amount of wasted time and fuel by getting your employees there faster. You can see how many miles your employee has driven, what their maximum speed was, and what their mileage cost was. FoxTrax GPS’s can keep track of where your employee is, where they have been, the miles they have driven, and can even map out the most efficient route to your destination.
Another great thing about FoxTrax GPS is that it sends the information to you quickly. The information is normally less than 20 seconds old so you always know where all your employees and vehicles are. You can also send text messages to your employees directly from the site. Your information is also stored for over year so you can track how much your business has improved.
If you need someone to be at a certain location fast, you can check and see who is closest to that location, this way you don’t waste time guessing. The number of vehicles you can have registered with FoxTrax is unlimited, so it’s great if you want to track just one device, or if you want to track hundreds. And most of FoxTrax devices install in less than five minutes.

San Diego Property Management Companies

Saturday, August 21st, 2010

In Southern California the management of a housing complex vacation rentals, commercial buildings or a hotel can be very demanding. For a small property owner, this can be quite overwhelming. That is why San Diego property management companies can be of great benefit.

San Diego property management companies provide a wide variety of services for the properties they manage. They offer clerical and administrative services and work with the property on budget planning and payroll assistance. They offer resources that may often not be available to a small business owners.

With being overseen by a San Diego management companies, there are certain drawbacks as well. The amount of control they have over the property will vary and this is spelled out in specific contracts. With a company, you will no longer have complete independence.

These San Diego management companies are often looking to diversify their portfolios, so they often take on small or unique properties. For that reason, the business owner can benefit from being part of a managed property.

For hotels, being managed by such a San Diego company can sometimes add another layer of management that can be confusing and frustrating for some staff members. If the company exerts too much control over the day to day operations, they can overstep their bounds. Staff members can become confused as to who to report to if the company is overly involved. With specifically laid out guidelines in the contract, these problems can hopefully be avoided.

With some research and careful planning, your business can benefit from a property management company. They will provide you with services that were previously cost prohibitive and hopefully increase your bottom line.

Saving Money With Hotel Suites

Saturday, August 7th, 2010

If you are going on vacation, the price of your lodging will depend on how many people are coming along. If you have a larger family, one hotel room is simply not going to be enough, especially if you plan on staying for more than one or two nights. You may be able to share a room with another couple for one day, but it won’t work out if you are going for a week, or a long weekend. Think about using hotel suites so that you can get everyone in one comfortably while saving a little money all at the same time.

Some may recommend that you get adjoining hotel rooms rather than getting hotel suites when you are traveling with a larger group. This is great to keep everyone together, but it still costs the same as getting two hotel rooms. The door is just a bonus but does not affect the price. You could try asking for a discount, but you may not get it. Instead, hotel suites are usually more money than a single room, but are also usually cheaper than paying for two or even three rooms at once.

You won’t always have more beds to work with if you get hotel suites rather than rooms, but you can usually find a pull-out couch in the living area of the room. You can also ask to have cots brought up to the room. You may or may not be charged for these. Find out before you book your hotel suites. You may not think that a hotel would waive any charges just to help you save money, but some of them will. These are tough times, and they are just happy to have the rooms occupied. If you save money, you may come back, and that is even more valuable to them.

If you choose hotel suites, you may have to pack a little differently. That does not mean much in the way of clothing, but think about taking some household items with you. If the hotel suites you have booked have a coffee maker, you may not get much coffee. Instead of using the small amount they offer, take a supply of your own with you. If your suite has a refrigerated unit included, you can take some food items with you, or buy them when you get there, to save on eating out. The more you eat in room, the less you spend in restaurants.

Hotel suites are not nearly as numerous as rooms, so if you think that you want to use suites to save money (or just because you want the extra room), try to book as early as you can so that you can be sure you get what you want. If you can not find hotel suites through any of the online travel sites, try calling the hotel directly. Sometimes, they have suites available but not through the online sellers or even their own online web site. Also, ask them for a discount. You may not get it, but it never hurts to try. They may offer you a free membership to their guests programs, which gives you savings each time you stay.

How to Choose the Best Vacation Among Costa Rica’s Beaches

Monday, August 2nd, 2010

If you have never heard of Guanacaste, then you are missing out one of the first rated beach spots in the world which just located in the northern part of Costa Rica. For couples who want a relaxing getaway without too numerous tourists or surfers my recommendation is Playa Hermosa. It’s simple to get to and a number of major airlines including Continental and Delta fly regular flights to nearby Liberia Airport (LIR) which is only twenty minutes away. With its untamed mountain and picturesque view, Playa Hermosa offers vast and uncluttered beaches. Definitely a place not to be missed.

Turn Your Food into Something Special with Aji Amarillo Sauce from Peru

Wednesday, July 28th, 2010

The difference between each cuisine is a no-brainer, but there is more to it than that. What separates Peruvian cuisine above the rest is its variety of ethnicity mixes that influenced its food. The Northern Coast, Central Coast, the Andes and the jungle have their own fore runners, cohered by Peru’s exotic and wide variety of produce. Aji peppers or yellow chili peppers is one of the most important ingredient in Peruvian cooking according to chef Acurio not to mention the peppers ability to turn every dish into something that is distinctively Peruvian. Certain dishes, some of the popular, that use aji amarillo are papa a la huancaina, causa rellena and Milanesa de Pollo. You can make your meal extra special with aji amarillo sauce from Peru.

Air Travel’s Getting Expensive – Care to take the Train?

Saturday, July 24th, 2010

If you fly regularly at all, you know that air travel no longer has anything to do with glamour, comfort or even fun. If you were pressed to describe the experience, you probably use words like over-priced, noisy, crowded and rude. But there seems to be hope at hand; the Transportation Department is on the problem, and has put together a panel of influential people (they’ve put together a representative group with people to speak for the airlines, the consumers, the visionaries, the policymakers ) to try to find a way to turn things around for air travel. Certainly, they’ve put together panels before; but this time it looks like they mean business. And their first order of business – making sure that the airlines are forced to hire and maintain a competitive maintenance staff for their aircraft; the kind of impact airliners have on the environment is going to be looked into, and airlines that are forced to resort to every cost-cutting measure to defend their bottom line, are going to get a little help with their finances too.

Reporters and journalists were allowed to watch and ask questions of the panel; it provided everyone with a real idea of what the future of air travel was meant to be. The smaller low-cost carriers like Southwest and JetBlue, are seen to be the feeder services that will fill up the planes the big boys fly internationally. If you live in a small city anywhere across the country, you can expect air travel to become more expensive; if you live in a small town, you can expect your regional airport to not have as many services, to have lots of cancellations and delays all the time because they’ll only be flying small aircraft that will be shut down by any kind of storm. If you live in a small town, you can expect your area will fall by the wayside as far as air travel opportunities are concerned.

International air travel doesn’t better; all the big carriers have joined hands, to achieve all kinds of great coordination and efficiency; but since all the big carriers are working together, they’ll make sure that the prices don’t slide. There’s less competition now. The one area where you have good news is when you travel from one major American city to another on the routes served by the low-cost carriers; the prices are rock-bottom now and forever. But while air travel in general is getting more expensive all around, there are other ways of travel opening up – for instance, and the government is really keen on high-speed rail travel; it is handing out billions of dollars to companies like Amtrak, to make it happen. Think maglev and bullet train.

As the cost of fuel rises, and they consider putting a major petroleum safety tax on your gas (after the BP oil spill), airlines are just going to stop making money anymore. As much as they raise their fares, they barely break even. It isn’t good news either that the European Union and other authorities are planning on slapping a carbon emissions tax too. Sure, going back to rail travel does seem like a step backward. But it’s much cleaner, and it’s nearly as quick.

The Coveted Business Class Upgrade

Friday, June 25th, 2010

It used to be that if you were interested in racking up enough frequent flyer miles for business class upgrade, that it was pretty uncomplicated. You’d make sure that you always flew on an airline that was affiliated to your credit card, and pretty soon you would have enough miles to make a go of it – free tickets, even an upgrade to first class if you were lucky.

The summer travel season is upon us, and things are beginning to look distinctly different already. If a business class upgrade is on your mind on, say, flights to Asia, then you should probably be prepared to understand the airlines’ new position, communicated to you via about 10 inches of single-spaced fine print; and be prepared to work out percentages and complicated formulas. For instance, frequent flyer miles don’t always pay for the whole trip these days – they usually expect that you pay an additional fee. It doesn’t end there; whether you get to upgrade or not, depends on what kind of seats you buy. There are certain kinds of coach seats you must have the privilege of holding to be eligible for an upgrade. Not all seats make the cut in eligibility for an upgrade. Typically, Delta Air Lines is the most hard fisted, while American and Continental-United can be somewhat more reasonable. It may seem tempting to believe that all frequent flyer plans are more or less the same, give or take. They really are not, even in a very competitive market.

It is a kind of trick the airlines play on you. When you go buy your coach seat, they make it look pretty much like any seat would be eligible for a business class upgrade. In reality, it all depends on what fare base you buy that coach seat on – and these can be bewilderingly complex – they have a dozen kinds of fares on any given flight, on any given class of travel. And airlines have every reason to keep the truth from you in the way they package everything. If you don’t dig too deep, it will make your seat look more attractive than it really is.

There are other significant pieces of information airlines keep under their hats too – for instance, not all the business class seats on a flight are open to upgrades. Only a few are. And they have a complex policy of what frequent-flier options and programs to make available to you, depending on what part of the country you live in, and what airlines you have, serving your market. If you choose Delta, the stingiest airline, they’ll ask you to buy the most expensive coach seats if you want a business class upgrade. American will let you upgrade even if you do have the cheapest coach seat.

Airlines have been cutting down on the number of seats available for years now. That, in combination with the way the economy has been improving, gives the airlines more leverage in how they will make you pay, or cut back rewards. Still, American and Continental on the whole are more rewarding airlines to travel on, if you’re looking for specials like a business class upgrade. For instance, when I tried to pull that upgrade on Delta, they demanded that I do it both legs of the trip. On American though, they’ll let you do it on only one. But anyway you look at it, the rewards on airlines are on their way down, and prices are on their way up. Don’t be surprised if pretty soon, the whole concept of the business class upgrade begins to evaporate

The Importance Of A Jewelry Travel Case

Friday, June 25th, 2010

Travel with jewelry can prove out to be a big hassle for any one. Not only from safety point of view but also because of the fact that travel might lead to breakage of the jewelry. Having a travel case is very favorable because with it you are able to save tons of money. When you travel, and an especially thin gold chain becomes tangled, it is almost not possible to straighten the piece. Often , after you start pulling and slackening, the attractive necklace breaks. That implies you have got to go off and replace it.

I Got My Chance to Vacation in Italy, and It Was Everything I Hoped it Would Be

Thursday, June 17th, 2010

I have been very fortunate to have traveled a lot in my life, but one thing I had never had the opportunity to do was to vacation in Italy. I finally made the plunge in 2007, and I have to admit that it was everything I had hoped it would be.

My family and I flew into Rome and spent three days touring the city. I went and saw all of the touristy stuff, like the Vatican and the Coliseum. I saw some of the old churches in the city, like the Basilica of St. John Lateran, but probably the thing I most remember from that portion of my vacation in Italy were all of the piazzas and how relaxing it was just to sit there and watch the people come and go.

From Rome, we went up to see Florence, which is easily one of my favorite cities in the world. I am a great lover of art, and this is the place to be for art lovers. I visited the world-renowned Uffizi art museum, and it was everything that I imagined it would be. There was a distinct difference between Florence and Rome, as well, but they each held a special place in my heart during my vacation in Italy.

From Florence, our vacation in Italy took us to the very unique city of Venice. I loved being able to ride on a gondola and take in the sights, and my wife loved the fashionable clothing the city has to offer. I have heard that the city is actually sinking, and I am glad that I had the opportunity to see it, just in case it is completely underwater in the future.

After Venice, we made our way further north to the city of Milan. This was another great opportunity to see one of the destinations I have always wanted to see, and that is the La Scala opera house. It is one of the most respected opera houses in the world, and being able to see it and imagine the debut of so many Puccini and Verdi operas practically gave me chills.

Besides all of the wonderful sights we took in, one of the best things about our vacation in Italy was the great food we enjoyed. It was almost enough just to go there and sample the great and diverse cuisine the country has to offer.

Our vacation in Italy is something that I will never forget for as long as I live and something I will always look back on with great fondness. It was one of those rare occasions in life where you really look forward to something for a long time, and when you finally get to do it, it turns out better than you ever imagined possible.
