Motorized Scooters

Wednesday, October 27th, 2010

The use of large gas guzzling cars in the United States has caused an increasingly negative effect on the environment and a dependence of foreign oil. As of 2007 the United States was the top consumer of oil, using 20,680,000 barrels of oil per day. That was more than twice the amount that the number two consumer. One thing that other countries have done to keep that number low was to use public transportation, carpools, and more efficient modes of transportation. While not all of these options are available to the population, one way people can reduce their carbon footprint is to use rides like motorized scooters to get around town.
Scooters can get up to 100 miles per gallon as opposed to an SUV’s 8 miles per gallon. This is a major difference in fuel usage which will help lower dependence on foreign fuel, and it will also help the environment. They emit less than one tenth of the toxic emissions that cars do and are a good way to enjoy the air when you are running errands.
Because they use so much gas they are an excellent way for people to save money. They are inexpensive and can pay for themselves within a couple months. Another good thing is that, if properly taken care of, they can last just as long as a car so you won’t have to replace them all the time. Many scooter dealers offer a yearlong warranty so if something is wrong with the scooter you will have enough time to have it replaced. There are a number of scooter designs which allows everyone to pick a scooter that meets their needs and style.

The use of fossil fuels has had a large impact on the environment, and this has been made even more obvious because of the recent oil spill in the gulf coast. The spill is harming much of the marine life and is causing problems for the fishing industry. One of the reasons people are being forced to drill in potentially ecologically harmful areas is our dependence on fossil fuels and our use of gas guzzling cars like hummers. Many people are looking for more ecologically friendly modes of transportation, like motorized scooters, to help prevent such disasters from happening again.
There are about 15 oil refineries in the United States and one of the reasons we have so many is that people are not conscious of the way they drive. Carpooling and using scooters are excellent ways to cut back on our use of fossil fuels and to reduce our impact on the environment. While scooters would not be good for a road trip they are excellent for traveling around the city and for running errands. They get up to 100 mpg as opposed to an SUV’s 8 mpg, which means they are putting less than one tenth of the pollution into the air as other cars. Because they are open they allow you to enjoy the air on the way to your destination which makes them much more enjoyable than just taking a car.
Because of the size of scooters they are more convenient for use in the city than cars because it is easier to navigate streets and they allow you to park in smaller spaces. Some people are opposed to the idea of getting a scooter because they think there isn’t a scooter that suits them, but there are a variety of scooters on the market and they come in a number of styles and power options. Most scooters are 50cc which allows them to go up to about 35 mph but they have 150cc scooters which gives the scooters enough power to travel on the highways.
When picking a scooter it is not necessary to get one imported from Italy. There are a large number of quality manufacturers in the United States. Some simple research can tell you whether or not a company has what you are looking for.

Scooters Help Save Money and the Environment

Our effect on the environment has been brought into focus in part because of the recent oil rig disaster. Because we are increasingly dependent on oil we are being forced to drill in potentially hazardous areas like the Gulf of Mexico. The use of cars takes up a large percentage of fossil fuel usage in the United States. We are the leading oil consumer in the world, using 20,680,000 barrels per day, which is more than twice the amount the second to top consumer uses. Other countries have invested in public transportation and more efficient vehicles. While public transportation is not always an option, efficient vehicles are readily available. More and more people are using hybrid cars and scooters to get around.
While scooters don’t necessarily come to mind when people think of ways to help the environment, they get up to 100 mpg, more than 10 times the mileage of must large cars. Using scooters cuts down on the amount of gas used and can help reduce the number of oil refineries in the country. They also reduce your carbon footprint and help lessen the effects of acid rain. While most scooters are not meant to be driven on the highway, they are excellent for use around town.
Because of their size it is easy for them to maneuver through city streets and to find parking places. Many environmentally students have begun using scooters to get around campus and to save money. Because the cost significantly less than a car and use one tenth the fuel they pay for themselves within a couple months.
When looking for a place to purchase scooters it is important for a person to do their research. Getting a scooter that doesn’t match your style or can’t go where you need to go will sit in the garage and be a waste. There are many scooter companies with quality scooters and it shouldn’t be hard to find the perfect one for you.

Scooters Help the Environment

The use of cars has been putting a large number of pollutants into the air, including carbon dioxide, hydrocarbons, and nitrogen oxide. These chemicals make the cities smoggy and cause acid rain. People are becoming more conscious of their effect on the environment and are looking for ways to reduce it. One way people are doing this is by riding scooters. They get up to 100 mpg, as opposed to some cars that get 8mpg, which means that not only do people cut down on pollution, but they cut down on the money they are spending at the gas pump.
Using a car to get from place to place around town can be wasteful and is often unnecessary; riding a scooter helps reduce this waste and allows you to enjoy the air and the ride to the grocery store or wherever you might be going. While scooters may be small, they come with detachable compartments that allow you to put as many groceries, books, etc. into them as you like.
Scooters are also good in stop and go traffic, which can be hard on car engines, because that is what they are built for. Although they are mostly for use around town, they can go up to 60 mph which means you can drive them on the highway too. More people riding scooters will lead to cleaner air and a more pleasant environment.

Benefits of Scooters Over Cars

Monday, April 12th, 2010

Air pollution has been steadily increasing over the past decades. A major contributor to this is cars. They can get as little as 8 mpg. People are becoming conscious of this and are looking for ways to reduce it. One way people are doing this is by riding scooters. They get up to 100 mpg, as opposed to some cars that get 8mpg, which means that not only do people cut down on pollution, but they cut down on the money they are spending at the gas pump.
Scooters are good for riding around town because they are so compact and they let you enjoy the air. Using a car to drive a couple of blocks to the grocery store wastes gas and emits lots of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere; taking a scooter will help stop this waste. While scooters may be small, they come with detachable compartments that allow you to put as many groceries as you like into them.
Scooters are also good in stop and go traffic, which can be hard on car engines, because that is what they are built for. Although they are mostly for use around town, they can go up to 60 mph which means they can go on the highway as well. If more people rode scooters then the air would be cleaner and it would make being outside more enjoyable.
