Uphold Baby Safety Measures for Your Newborn

Friday, March 5th, 2010

Whenever a baby is in the care of a parent or baby sitter, then they should make sure and uphold baby safety measures. They need to be sure and not let the baby play with any toys that can potentially choke or injure the baby in any way. We all know that toys are good things for the baby to play with, but some of these toys can also be very dangerous as well. On the other hand, other things that you should consider when it comes to baby safety are the windows and doors or any other areas where the baby may be able to get out of the house. You need to be sure and put some sort of locks or latches on these exit points so the baby will not accidentally slip out of the house. Next are the doors, windows and any exit points in the house. These should be fitted with baby safety locks or latches that will prevent a baby from opening or squeezing through.

In addition, if babies are easily able to get in the kitchen, then this will certainly increase the risk of the baby getting injured. As far as the stove goes, there is a product called a stove guard that you can buy that will protect the knobs on the stove and will not allow the infant from turning the knobs. Also, whenever you are cooking on the stove, it is a great idea to turn the handle on the pans inward so the baby can’t accidentally grab the pan and possibly knock it off the stove.
