Gone are the days we had to completely depend on our Personal Assistant. There was a time till the recent past that busy individuals were forced to hire an in-house PA to handle their day to day business and personal appointments etc. However, we have lots of ad hoc options to even replace the concept of in house personal assistant to take care of our tasks. I signed up with a Virtual Assistant Service provider in India exactly four days from today 16th Sep. In fact it was a free 5 day trial and I decided to outsource my works to my Virtual Assistant who works exactly during my working hours 9 to 5 in the evening. The only change is that I can’t see him in my office as I used to when I was dealing with my PA. I am better organized now, plan my day in the morning and offloads everything that can be exchanged over phone and email from my to do list to my VA Allen Mathew. What amazed me is he takes over any kind of tasks I shoot to him, says he has various expert support team to handle any tasks. I feel good about it and I am going to upgrade my monthly usage to 80 hours from next week.

Most do not seem to understand the term outsourcing as such. People still do not know what a Virtual Assistant (VA or PVA) is. It does not mean outsourcing has all to do with companies and business firms only and not me as an individual. Today, outsourcing has reached to that extent any person who earns a few bucks can employ a PA for him either in to assist in office works or personal works but with a difference that you can’t expect his physical presence there beside you. On the other hand he will be working for your tasks remotely through internet, Phone and Fax etc. A PVA has got his office in a remote location where he’s been employed by the company. Imagine a group of experts sitting on the same floor working for your business, call it whatever!
