The Advent Project for Christmas and the Advent Calendar
Wednesday, December 7th, 2011
When my spouse and I were first married I searched for an Advent wreath that had been just like my mother’s. There were wreathes that you could buy in the stores; yet many of them had man-made greens. My husband had also been brought up Catholic, however his family did not have an Advent wreath within their home. He had never been aware of people having their very own wreathes he thought they were only lighted in church. He decided that it would nice to have one in the home and to say an extra prayer each evening during this period. He recommended making our very own wreath out of evergreen boughs and placing votive candles in holders within the ring. This worked fine. We put our Advent wreath as a center piece on our dining room table. We lit the appropriate candle each evening and said a prayer. I am glad that we are carrying on with a tradition from my years as a child. This season remember those who are still struggling, the Advent Project is a project featuring artwork from recognized and internationally recognised artists such as Makatron and Meggs, along with an variety of up and coming talent.
