What, then, are some of the things that should be spelled out when you have chosen the people you want to work with?

You’ll want it agreed to, in writing, that whether this is going to be a long-term, ongoing relationship or a one-time project, you or your company are the owner of all the materials or goods produced, the patents, all the records, everything. You will need a confidentiality agreement as well, stipulating what the supplier can reveal about your business and what it can’t. You will decide on the terms of payment.
