Chances are the store uses something called scent marketing. Scent marketing is a way of getting customers inside your store by tempting them with the lovely scent of what ever you are marketing. Melted chocolate smells wonderful, but getting that smell to stay in the store (let alone on the outside) all day is very hard to do. Using a scent machine, though the smell will be there whenever new customers walk in the door. You may find that you have some customers sticking around a little longer because they just don’t want to leave the comforting scent that your scent machine is wafting out into your business. Scent machines are self contained units that produce a fresh, clean (never artificial) scent. Scent marketing is one of the best ways to get customers in your door. There are a lot of big named corporations that use the convienance of scent marketing and the scent systems that scent machine provide. Restaurants also use scent systems, they will often pipe out the smell or flavor that they want to market the most that night. Scent systems are an ingenious way to get customers in your business; you don’t even need to own an establishment that serves food. If you want customers to stay and look around your store, give them a scent that is going to comfort them or make them feel good. Anything from clean, fresh cotton and laundry to cookies or spicy scents.
